The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is accepting nominations for an Urban Commercial Real Estate seat on the Commercial Real Estate Broker and Commercial Property Manager Industry Council.

When we announced that CREB® and the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton (RAE) have begun exploring whether members would benefit from a merger of the two organizations, we created the Exploring a Joint Future with RAE hub on CREB®Link to serve as a central location for up-to-date information on the discussions. 
On May 21, 2026, CREB® Board Chair Susanita de Diego and President and CEO Alan Tennant announced in an all-member email that CREB® and the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton (RAE) have begun exploring whether members would benefit from a merger of the two organizations.
The 2025 CREB® Member Satisfaction Survey reflected the highest member satisfaction levels since 2010, with strong perceptions of value, service quality and member support.

While talking with a long-term member recently, I had an “a-ha” moment when the discussion turned to the topic of governance and he said, “I love being a REALTOR®, but I don’t get all this talk about governance; what the heck is governance, really”?

Governance can sound like the kind of word that belongs in a boardroom—or a textbook. At CREB®, governance is simply the framework that helps us make decisions, stay accountable to members, and keep the organization moving in a clear, consistent direction. 
In last week’s edition of CREB®Talk, we shared the results of the poll on whether comments in CREB®Talk and CREB®Link should be left on or turned off. The message from the poll was clear: members value the ability to comment, ask questions, and share perspectives on CREB®Talk and CREB®Link—and we are committed to keeping that space available.
