The members assigned to working groups were selected from those who responded to a call for volunteers in August. CREB® and RAE began notifying these members this week and will announce their names when all of the successful applicants have accepted their assignments.
Unfortunately, not all members who applied to join a working group could be assigned to a working group due to the large number of members from each organization who applied. The JMSC thanks them for stepping forward and hope that they, along with all members, will participate in upcoming member engagement opportunities to make sure their voices and ideas are heard.
The working groups will begin their explorations at different times based on their scope and whether their findings are required by other groups that will build on what they find and the decisions they make. The first four working groups to meet will focus on the following topics:
• Governance and Bylaws
• Legal and Regulatory
• Finance and Reserves
• MLS® System and Technology
Each group will report back to the JMSC, which will use their findings to determine the potential benefits and risks of merging, and then whether to recommend to the boards of directors of CREB® and RAE that they move forward with developing a merger proposal for members of each organization to review and vote on.
To learn more about the merger exploration, the JMSC, the business domains the working groups will be looking at, upcoming town hall dates, and more, go to the Our Journey, Your Why hub on CREB®Link. The full list of members on each working group will be posted once those appointed have had a chance to confirm their interest.
Sincerely,
The Joint Merger Steering Committee
