Coming soon and time-sensitive signage advertising

By CREB®

Signage can be an effective marketing tool for increasing visibility and attracting prospective buyers.

Here’s what you need to know about the requirements for when signs can be displayed and when they must be removed.

Coming soon signage

Coming soon signage can help generate awareness and interest before a property is listed on the MLS® System. "Coming soon" may be used:

• For a maximum of three calendar days before the listing is posted to the MLS® System.

• Must be removed immediately once the listing is posted to the MLS® System.

Time-sensitive signage

Time-sensitive signage includes signs such as:

• Just Listed

• New Listing

• Price Reduced

These signs must be removed within 10 business days of the listing date or the amendment date of the listing agreement.

For sale sign

For sale signs must be removed immediately upon:

• The expiry date

• Termination of the listing agreement

• The completion date

• At the seller’s request

Sold signage

The seller’s representative and/or the buyer’s representative may place a sold sign on a property, provided they have received written permission from the property owner.
