Families staying at Discovery House now have access to newly renovated shelter suites thanks in part to ongoing support from Calgary and area REALTORS^®.

As a 2025 Community Grant recipient, Discovery House received funding through the CREB^® REALTOR^® Community Foundation to help support upgrades within the shelter, creating safe, welcoming spaces for women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic violence.

In addition to the financial support, REALTOR^® volunteers Lori Nitah, Tom Davis, Arnav Bhalla and Komal Singh spent Feb. 25, 2026, at Discovery House assembling furniture for the renovated spaces, helping prepare the suites for incoming families and contributing directly to the final stages of the project.

For more than 40 years, Discovery House has supported women and children leaving domestic violence through shelter, childcare, counselling and community support services. The organization serves approximately 600 individuals each year, most of them children.

The completed suites reflect the impact of REALTORS^® giving back through both financial contributions and hands-on volunteer support, helping create spaces where families can feel safe, supported and at home during a difficult transition.
