Amended provincially harmonized rules in effect on July 1, 2026

By CREB®
In March, CREB® members were notified of the amendments made to the provincially harmonized rules approved by all 10 Alberta boards under Part II and III of the CREB® Rules, that take effect starting tomorrow, July 1, 2026.

Click here for a detailed comparison of the amendments made to the provincially harmonized rules.

In summary

The changes may affect your business practices in the following ways:

CREB® Rule Part II 10.04 – Time sensitive references on signage

“Coming Soon” signage is now included in time-sensitive marketing and must be removed once the listing is added to the MLS® System.

CREB® Rule Part II 11.04 – Presentation of multiple offers that include offer(s) by seller’s representative

When representing a seller in a multiple-offer situation, confirm their instructions in writing.

CREB® Rule Part II 2.04(e) – Photographs and images

The rule now requires members to ensure they have the legal right to use and post photos on the MLS® System.

CREB® Rule Part III 2.07b) – Accuracy and completeness of information

Do not remove listing data, including photographs, before changing the status to pending, sold, expired or terminated. This information is vital to the property’s history.
