Strategic update: Elevating REALTOR® professionalism

By CREB®
Thank you to the many members who have contributed to our ongoing work to elevate REALTOR® professionalism. Your feedback continues to shape our initiatives and supports CREB®'s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan goal of elevating REALTOR® professionalism.

What we've been working on

Over the past several months, CREB® has continued to advance several professionalism-focused initiatives aligned with the Learnings from CREB®’s Professionalism Summit, including:

A comprehensive redesign of the CREB® Broker Orientation program, informed by member surveys and broker engagement.

Ongoing monitoring and refinement of the expanded New Member Orientation program launched in October 2025, with the first cohort set to complete the full one-year learning pathway this fall.

REALTOR® brand engagement work, including a member micro-summit and consumer research exploring brand awareness, perceptions of REALTORS®, professionalism and consumer trust. Together, these initiatives are providing valuable insight into how consumers perceive REALTORS®, what builds trust and where opportunities exist to strengthen the REALTOR® value proposition. All of the findings—and what they mean for members—will be available soon.

Collaboration with CREA, GVR, AREF and other organized real estate partners to share ideas, research and best practices related to professionalism.

What's next

We remain committed to listening to members and gathering insight on the issues that matter most.

Join us on Sept. 25 for our next Professionalism Summit, where we'll take a deeper dive into key topics, including:

The role of ongoing professional development: What ongoing learning, training and professional development opportunities would provide the greatest value to members and support long-term professionalism.

The intersection of brand and professionalism: How professionalism can strengthen public trust and reinforce the REALTOR® value proposition in the eyes of consumers.

Professionalism, complaints and recognition programs: What accountability and recognition programs could look like and the value they may provide to members.

Be part of the conversation – register today!

These discussions will help guide future professionalism initiatives and ensure they are informed by member perspectives.
