Through a range of scholarships and endowment funds, CREB® and the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation support students pursuing post-secondary education, developing leadership skills and preparing for careers that will shape the future of real estate and housing.
Three University of Calgary students are among the latest recipients of CREB®-supported scholarships and awards. Each received the 2025–2026 CREB® Graduate Scholarship in Real Estate, valued at $5,000, to support their Master of Business Administration studies at the Haskayne School of Business.
Colin McCann
After being laid off, Colin McCann enrolled in an MBA to reskill and re-enter the workforce. He says the scholarship was instrumental in helping him balance tuition, housing costs and supporting his family while completing his degree.
"The financial support I received was quite literally essential to be able to pay for the degree while also paying for housing and putting my kids through school. I would not have been able to do without it."
Today, Colin is on track to complete his MBA while gaining experience through part-time work in his chosen industry.
Chioma Agbanusi
With a background in science, Chioma Agbanusi is using her MBA to transition into commercial real estate, where she hopes to contribute to housing affordability and sustainable urban growth.
The scholarship allowed her to participate in leadership opportunities beyond the classroom, including executive coaching and professional development through the Haskayne Leadership Lab.
"As I embark on my career in commercial real estate, I hope to create meaningful and lasting value for communities like Calgary."
Liz Rudiger
Liz Rudiger has worked in Calgary's real estate industry for the past decade and is completing her MBA while working full time.
She says the scholarship has helped make that journey possible while exposing her to new areas of the industry.
"My courses have introduced me to the world of commercial real estate, which has been an exciting new perspective. It has also reinforced how meaningful it is to see organizations supporting and encouraging women pursuing careers in real estate."
Supporting tomorrow's leaders
The University of Calgary also recognized Matt Comfort as the recipient of the Calgary Housing Commission Graduate Prize, another award supported through CREB®'s commitment to education.
The CREB® Graduate Scholarship in Real Estate is one of several scholarships, awards and endowment funds supported by CREB® and the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation. Together, these programs help reduce financial barriers for students while supporting the future of real estate in our region.
