However, according to member feedback, this dialogue is sometimes dominated by a few voices and/or disrespectful and bullying comments that shut down the conversation because other members are worried about being the target of mean-spirited replies or worse.
Over time, we have seen the number of constructive conversations in the comments decrease, and the frequency of disrespectful and bullying comments increase. The result has been a stifling of the rich, thoughtful discussions members once had in the comments.
We ask you to take the poll below to decide whether commenting on articles should continue to be allowed. The poll will run for one week, closing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with the results announced that day in the CREB®Talk email newsletter.
The results of the poll will be binding. If the majority of respondents say to leave the comments on, they will be left on. If the majority say to turn comments off, they will be turned off. Our priority is to ensure CREB® is an industry leader in how we communicate with transparency and through open, two-way dialogue. This means our articles will provide contact information for direct follow-up questions and we will continue to monitor your feedback and conduct polls from time to time to confirm member sentiments.
