This year's scholarship recipients recently met with the Chair of the CREB® Board of Directors, Susanita de Diego, to learn more about CREB® and the real estate industry, while Susanita was able to learn about the students' ambitions.
"Investing in students who are passionate about real estate is more than a scholarship—it's a commitment to building the next generation of visionaries shaping our communities," said Susanita de Diego, Chair of CREB® Board of Directors. "It was an honour to meet the scholarship recipients and learn about their goals and visions for the future of real estate."
For the 2024-2025 academic year, these five University of Calgary students received financial aid from CREB® due to their outstanding academic performance and interest in real estate:
CREB® Graduate Scholarship in Real Estate | $5,000
Recipient: Chandan Jain, Master of Business Administration (Management)

CREB® Graduate Scholarship in Real Estate | $5,000
Recipient: Marc DiManno, Master of Business Administration (Management)

This means a great deal to me as I am self-funding my MBA journey and occasionally require time off work. Calgary Housing Commission Graduate Prize | $1,300
Recipient: Julien Doucette-Preville, Master of Planning
CREB® and The City of Calgary jointly fund the Calgary Housing Commission Graduate Prize for students pursuing a Master of Planning graduate degree at the University of Calgary. This prize is for a student who has demonstrated interest in land development, housing or the shelter industry.
Karen Gammie Graduate Scholarship | $2,300
Recipient: Heather Rusi, Doctor of Nursing
"Thank you for your generous scholarship for my Doctor of Nursing education. This is the second time that I have received the Karen Gammie scholarship, and I am grateful for this funding. As a mother of three young children, I am pursuing my doctoral studies in nursing at the University of Calgary, and this financial scholarship the past two years has helped our family immensely to ease the financial burden of continuing my academic studies."
