The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) has opened nominations for its Industry Council elections — and this is the chance for you to make a difference.
RECA’s four Industry Councils oversee regulation, set professional and education standards, and safeguard consumer trust in their respective sectors:
- Residential Real Estate Broker
- Residential Property Manager (including Condominium Management)
- Commercial Real Estate Broker & Commercial Property Manager
- Mortgage Broker
Each Council includes three elected licensees and two appointed public members. One elected member from each also sits on RECA’s Board of Directors, shaping the province’s regulatory direction.
Why get involved?
Serving on an Industry Council means influencing licensing requirements, conduct standards, and education — while protecting consumers and strengthening public confidence in the profession.
Industry Council members also receive an annual retainer, paid monthly.
Who can run?
Any RECA licensee meeting the eligibility criteria can apply. You’ll need five endorsements from fellow licensees and a complete Candidate Package submitted to RECAelection@mnp.ca by Sept. 9 (4 p.m. MST). Late or incomplete submissions won’t be accepted.
Election candidates will be announced Sept. 12.
How to apply
Download the Candidate Package, review requirements, and learn more at reca.ca/elections.
Take the next step in your career — be a leader in your sector and a champion for Alberta’s real estate industry.
