CREB^® REALTORS^® came together to support Discovery House, a CREB^® REALTOR^® Community Grant recipient.

For over 40 years, Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society has served women and children fleeing domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives.

Last week, several REALTORS^® spent their afternoon learning about how Discovery House supports Calgary families and cleaning up the play area and garden for Spring.

This area is a safe sanctuary for the families staying with Discovery House. With a mini playground, sandbox, garden boxes, and plenty of seating, families can enjoy the sunshine and connect with one another to form a supportive community.

Discovery House’s shelter was built in 2002 and the organization supports approximately 600 people a year, most of them children. In addition to the enclosed courtyard with a play area and garden, the shelter has two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, a childcare centre, counselling rooms and community spaces.
