Property tax bills

By CREB®

Please note, there is a backlog at the Alberta Land Titles Office, which is causing significant delays in ownership and mailing address changes.

Property tax bills are mailed in late May, so delayed ownership and/or mailing address changes will result in new property owners not receiving their property tax bill. The amount of the delay is fluctuating, but at this point home purchases made in approximately the last three months will be impacted.

As a reminder, property taxes must be paid before June 30 to avoid penalties, and the City is not responsible for delays. Property owners who have not received their property tax bill by the first week of June must call 311 to obtain an up-to-date statement of account.

Please share this valuable information with any of your clients who may be affected.

More information can be found on the property tax and contact tax pages of the City of Calgary’s website.
