Masks are now mandatory for all indoor public spaces and workplaces in the province of Alberta.
The announcement was made on Sept. 3 in a press release from the provincial government, which states that further actions to protect the health system from COVID-19 are needed. Please click here to read the full release.

What this means for CREB® members
Masks are now mandatory for all staff, members and visitors while at the CREB® building. Disposable masks are available from the Member Services Centre upon entering the building for members who do not have one.
In alignment with these reinstated masking requirements, please ensure you and your clients are masked while attending in-person showings and open houses. Please note, as per AREA’s instructions, sellers cannot waive the mask mandate.
RECA requires members to exhibit care and control of the property during viewings. Ensuring that provincially mandated masking is adhered to and following any additional seller health and safety measures is an important part of upholding that responsibility.
Please keep the following top of mind when entering properties:
- Continue to physically distance when possible.
- Follow seller instructions regarding health and safety measures in addition to mask-wearing. The optional COVID-19 forms and guides continue to be available to members through CREB®Link.
- Anyone with a medical mask exemption must receive advance clearance from the seller before showing the property.
Additionally, the showing rule relaxation continues to be in effect for clients who do not wish to show their property due to COVID-19 concerns.
