FINTRAC record-keeping requirements

By CREB®

Updated FINTRAC record-keeping requirements will come into effect on June 1, 2021.

As a reminder, real estate professionals are bound by legislated requirements under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.

Please take a moment to review the record-keeping guide to understand what FINTRAC record-keeping involves before the changes take effect on June 1. The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has also published new FINTRAC Resources including updated forms, policies and FAQs to assist you.

We also encourage you to register for CREB®’s upcoming FINTRAC with CREA session on May 27 to learn more about changes to FINTRAC forms, how FINTRAC responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, and what you can expect in 2021.
