Rural Address Input Policy

By CREB®

In CREB®’s continual effort to enhance the quality, consistency and accuracy of data within the MLS® System, we have implemented a Rural Address Input Policy.

This new policy will help assist agents in listing and searching for properties that do not have municipal addresses. The policy is in alignment with other provincial boards and is intended to standardize a provincial practice that many members were already following.

Please note, on Feb. 1 2021, CREB® will be begin an audit of all active rural listings for address accuracy in alignment with the new policy.

The Rural Address Input Policy document details the new guidelines and provides real world examples on proper use and implementation. We encourage you to review your listings to ensure any impacted rural listings have been updated prior the audit.

If you have questions about the upcoming audit, or the Rural Address Input Policy, please contact CREB® Member Practice at crebmp@creb.ca.
