Alberta ramps up its vaccine program and adds more COVID-19 recovery aid for Alberta’s small business affected by the recent rollback in public health measures.
Government of Alberta expands vaccine program
Starting today (April 20), Albertans born in 1981 or earlier are eligible to get the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Participating pharmacies and Alberta Health Services are now booking appointments, and walk-in vaccinations will be available at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary, as well as specific pharmacies across the province.
Are you currently eligible?
Everyone in the following age groups can get vaccinated now:
- Age 65+
- Age 40+ for the AstraZeneca vaccine
- Age 50+ for First Nations, Metis and Inuit people
- Age 16+ with eligible chronic health conditions
- Front-line healthcare workers
- Shelter and correction facility staff

More COVID recovery aid for Alberta’s Small businesses
The Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant offers financial assistance to Alberta organizations that were ordered to close or curtail operations, and that experienced a revenue reduction of at least 30 per cent, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To support businesses affected by the recent public health measures introduced this month (April 2021), the Government of Alberta announced that a third application period will open soon.
