Earlier this year, the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) announced changes to the Residential Measurement Standard (RMS) guidelines, including the introduction of a new Below Grade Measurement Standard (BGMS).

As we approach the new year, it's crucial for all members to be aware of upcoming changes to the Residential Measurement Standard (RMS) that will be effective from Jan. 1, 2024. 

As part of CREB®’s ongoing due diligence and review, we’ve identified an inconsistency with the principles approved by Council in the June 13 meeting minutes and what is listed on RECA’s website for Below Grade Measurement Standards (BGMS). This has now been corrected as of today.

As we approach the new year, it's crucial for all members to be aware of upcoming changes to the Residential Measurement Standard (RMS) that will be effective from Jan. 1, 2024.

RECA is seeking your feedback on proposed changes to Part 1 of the Real Estate Act Rules, specifically related to RECA's licensing framework and certain notification processes. 

Following RECA’s Residential Real Estate Broker Industry Council’s undertaking to review the RMS, the Industry Council has made the following revisions to the RMS, taking effect on Jan. 1, 2024.

On behalf of the Real Estate Regulators of Canada (RERC), the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) invites you to contribute to setting national competencies for new real estate licensees by completing the Competency Profile Survey.
