Exercise caution when using one day codes

Looking to allow another REALTOR® access to one of your listed homes? SentriLock’s lockboxes have a fantastic one day code feature that allows Realtors from other boards, appraisers, inspectors, trades or other vendors to access a home, right from your web browser or SentriSmart app.

However, these codes are not meant to be used for individuals to access the home without a Realtor and should not be used by CREB® members to circumvent the system if they have lost their phone or access card for the SentriLock system. Per CREB®’s KMS License Agreement, members who issue one day codes to a third party are in “care and control” of the property and are accountable for the outcomes from granting that access.

If you receive a request for a one day code from a Realtor from another board, please ensure that you follow up using RECA's Public License Search system to verify they are a licensed real estate professional. If you feel uncomfortable in any way with issuing a one day code, you are under no obligation to provide one to a third party.

For more information on SentriLock features and training, visit CREB®’s SentriLock Hub.
