As the nights grow longer and daylight savings time approaches, it’s important to remember your personal safety and security while showing homes or at open houses. 

A 2016 National Association of REALTORS^® report on member safety found that while 95 per cent of REALTORS^® surveyed had never been a victim of a crime on the job, more than 39 per cent of respondents had been in a situation where they felt uncomfortable or fearful. 

Your SentriSmart™ Mobile App has an additional feature that you might find helpful; Agent Safety is designed to help give you peace of mind while you conduct your normal activities while showing a home. 

After opening a lockbox via the SentriSmart™ App, members will be prompted to confirm they are safe. If for some reason, the member is unable confirm their safety, the system will automatically communicate that status and their location to their designated emergency contact(s) to inform them of the member’s status.

To access this new feature, users will simply need to visit Settings in the app to turn on the service and designate emergency contacts that should be notified.
