Created to support the communities where CREB® members live and work, your Charitable Foundation has contributed more than $6 million to a wide-range of non-profit organizations in the community.
“The investing in HOPE program is so special for so many reasons,” said Aneve MacKay-Lyons, manager for CREB®‘s Charitable Foundation.
“Our 30 year legacy has helped numerous charities and with this being one of our biggest funding initiative ever, we’re about to be a part of something incredibly impactful for local families and the community,” said MacKay-Lyons.
Nominated organizations can choose to participate in the 30th Anniversary Edition by completing a funding application for programs or projects for citizens within CREB®’s service area that support:
- Affordable housing or shelter-related initiatives; or
- Initiatives which enhance or provide sustainability for the community.
A selection committee will score each application on criteria to determine the top three organizations. From there, the finalists will be announced on the Investing in HOPE website.
The grant recipients will be determined by CREB® members and staff through an exclusive online voting program that will start Friday, Aug. 11.
Depending on the amount of votes that each charity collects, the finalists will receive one of three grants for $125,000, $100,000 or $75,000.
“The most interesting thing about Investing in HOPE is that it is a grassroots program,” said CREB® Charitable Foundation president Rob Campbell. “It’s very unique because REALTORS® can put forward a charity that they or one of their clients are involved in, which allows them to see the result of that giving.
Members may nominate their favourite charity anytime from now until noon on Friday, June 30.
