ROAR

Jan 20, 2017

Nominate. Celebrate. Elevate.

With three easy steps, you can make a difference in local real estate. Want to know how? Carve out a few minutes to explore roarawards.com.

The ROAR Awards were developed for REALTORS®, by REALTORS®, to identify high-calibre role models in specific areas of real estate.

Not only do the awards recognize accomplished REALTORS®, they also help boost the professionalism, competency and value of the local industry as a whole.

You can play a major role in this year’s program by following these three steps:

1. Nominate

Your first step is to nominate a deserving colleague in one of five ROAR categories that define an outstanding REALTOR®:

  • Commitment to Education: The Commitment to Education ROAR Award is presented to an individual devoted to professional development, sharing new concepts and teaching others.
  • Community Impact: The Community Impact ROAR Award is presented to an individual who takes action to invest in their community and views social responsibility as part of their own success.
  • Marketing Excellence: The Marketing Excellence ROAR is about the creativity and ingenuity of a REALTOR® to maximize their potential. This award may be presented to an individual, team or brokerage.
  • Mentorship Distinction: The Mentorship Distinction ROAR Award is presented to an individual who believes that mentorship has no boarders, and transfers their superb knowledge and working habits to the next generation of REALTORS®.

There’s also the People’s REALTOR®, but nominations for this special award are submitted by members of the public who had an exceptional experience that went beyond expectations.

Remember, any member can nominate, or be nominated. The deadline for submission is March 8.

2. Celebrate

Once the nominations have been gathered, the candidates selected and finalists announced, it’s time to celebrate. Cheer on your fellow REALTORS® at Hotel Arts on May 27 as they are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.

Stay tuned in the coming months for more on the celebration event and how to get tickets.

3. Elevate

The hardware has been presented and the celebration has come to a close, but that doesn’t mean the ROAR Awards are forgotten. It’s up to you to keep the conversation going with colleagues and clients, sharing stories and explaining the value of the ROARs to local real estate professionals.

Maybe you’ll be inspired yourself, and take on that mentorship program you’ve been eyeing. Or perhaps you’ll discover that making a difference in your community provides your business with new meaning and value.

No matter what you decide, just remember to take action and nominate, so we can celebrate and elevate down the road.

If you have any questions about ROAR, or would like to have someone come to your brokerage to explain the awards in greater detail, please contact Paula Knetsch, Member Experience manager, at paula.knetsch@creb.ca, or 403-781-1306.
