CREA’s form to support compliance with the Federal Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Real Estate by Non-Canadian Act is now available on various platforms.

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) will be surveying members from across the country to identify challenges and opportunities for REALTORS® relating to inbound and outbound international transactions.

Please note, CREA sent an email last Friday regarding the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act coming into force on Jan. 1, 2023.

On Jan. 1, 2023, the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians (Foreign Buyers Ban) comes into effect. This is a temporary ban of two years that prevents non-Canadians from purchasing residential property.
