Staying updated with regulatory changes is paramount in our industry, ensuring compliance and fostering trust and transparency within our transactions. 

A Canada-wide class action lawsuit was recently filed naming the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and various regional boards and associations across the country, including CREB^®.

We understand that many questions come with implementing a new policy, such as the REALTOR^® Cooperation & Public Advertising Rule (CREB^® Rule Part II 6.06). 

Over January and February, you can join CREA for a virtual CIPS Institute that features instructors from both sides of the border. 

The REALTOR^® Cooperation Policy takes effect on Jan. 3, and CREB^® is getting you ready for it. The 10 Alberta real estate boards have established a harmonized rule and approach to fulfill the requirements of CREA's policy, which states, "Boards and Associations operating MLS^® Systems must adopt and enforce this policy in their MLS^® System Rules or an equivalent policy."

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has recently named Janice Myers as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective Jan. 2, 2024.

As you might expect, it was a full house last week as board and association leaders from across the country eagerly participated in CREA’s Oct. 18 special general meeting and open forum on the future of REALTOR.ca.

Beginning Sept. 26, 2023, all members will have to log in through REALTOR.ca SSO to access CREA products and services, like CREA WebForms^®, REALTOR.ca Member App and CREA Learning Hub. 

Over the past several weeks, there have been several concerning developments involving CREA with their approach to managing technology and their apparent desire to be more involved in the transaction process.

Beginning Sept. 15, the Canadian Real Estate Association’s (CREA) REALTOR Link^® platform will be retired and replaced with member.CREA.ca.

Earlier this year, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) announced their REALTOR Link^® platform would be retired. Beginning Sept. 15, CREA will make its member content and tools available through member.CREA.ca.
