Looking for your next volunteer endeavour? Four CREB® committees have several spots available due to other members reaching the end of their terms and we are looking for the next round of volunteers to fill those spots!

Audit & Finance Standing Committee (AFSC)

Six vacancies in April

Committee purpose:

To be a resource to the CREB® boards, REB Resources Ltd. (REB Res), the CREB® Critical Illness Benefit Society (CIBS) and the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation (RCF), by overseeing and objectively assessing the financial performance and their financial statements, internal controls, financial reporting, accounting standards and the independence of the External Auditors, with CREB®’s CEO, Treasurer and Finance Manager.

Time commitment:

The AFSC meets four-six times a year. Members can reasonably estimate to spend around three hours per meeting, between preparation, forum monitoring and posts and participation in the meeting.

Committee members may serve for a maximum of four consecutive years (two x two years).

 

Board Development and Leadership Standing Committee (BDLSC)

Seven vacancies at the end of 2023

Committee purpose:
Enhance the performance of CREB® boards and committees through a “best person” approach to development and implementation of director composition practices including recruitment, screening, section/election, training and succession planning. The BDLSC is also responsible for working with the BOD and the CEO to ensure that the succession planning process for the CEO is fully integrated with the company-wide leadership development strategy.

Time commitment:

The BDLSC meets roughly six times a year. Members can reasonably estimate to spend around three hours per meeting, between preparation, forum monitoring and posts and participation in the meeting. While the committee works year-round, time demands are most intense from September to December.

Committee members may serve for a maximum of four consecutive years (two x two years).

 

Community Investment Standing Committee (CISC)

Two vacancies at the end of 2023

Committee purpose:
Develop and recommend community investment strategies that align with foundation and CREB® goals, strategies and policies. You will also monitor the implementation of approved strategies. 

Time commitment:
CISC usually meets six times a year. Members can reasonably estimate to spend around three hours per meeting, between preparation, forum monitoring and posts and participation in the meeting.

Committee members may serve for a maximum of four consecutive years (two x two years).

 

Honourary Life Awards Committee

Five vacancies at the end of 2023

Committee purpose:
Recommend nominees to the BOD for Honorary Life Membership for a person who is engaged or has previously been engaged in the real estate business, or who has rendered outstanding service in any way to the real estate business, or to the board or public. You will also recommend an honorary public member; a person who is currently not a member or former staff member of CREB®; who has rendered outstanding service in any way to the real estate industry, to CREB® or to the public.

Time Commitment:

The Honourary Life Committee meets one-three times a year.

Committee members may serve for a maximum of four consecutive years (two x two years).
